“With the benefit of hindsight it is easy to surmise why this thoroughly enjoyable album, under the leadership of drummer Pete Magadini, escaped the attention of many jazz lovers. Bones Blues was just a few years ahead of it’s time. The music is straight ahead bop. The tunes are jazz classics…”

It started out as an educational project to show how polyrhythms might work in live and recorded okaying situations involving actual tunes. It was meant to accompany the book Polyrhythms for the Drumset. Well, when you have George Duke, Don Menza and Dave Young on the date things happen and when the album was finished it took off on it’s own. Now, 30 plus years alter I am making this available again.
